In 1994 I visited Antigua, Guatamala at Easter. On Good Friday, they carry the larger-then-life-sized wooden images through the streets to the Stations of the Cross. My drawing is from an image of Christ carrying the Cross. The lines of poetry in the painting come from Canadian poet Denise Levertov.
