| Bruges, Belgium has the most spectacular sculpture in public places. These bike riders can be found around a fountain in the largest square in town. Their simple yet monumental forms were captivating for me. I have been enjoying using a poured watercolor ink underpainting on these paintings from my trip to Europe in 2007. It adds mystery and texture to the simplified bodies. |
